What in the World

It's been the strangest year. I think Will and I can both honestly say that we had no idea what would come of our chance meeting in Brooklyn last September 2005. It was evening and he was walking his dog on our street--because as chance would have it, we had been living a block away from each other on Hooper St. for over seven months. As he and Meche stood at the end of the block, I was strolling home from the corner bodega with an ice cold bottle of Poland Spring to hit the sack with. Neither of us really remember how we entered into conversation, nor can we believe that just two weeks later we decided to get married ("decided" not being the correct word--we realized without a doubt that we had to be together and now). After three months of nausea and lovesickness, we were officially engaged at a food-fueled Noche Buena with my family, and everything has continued to be a blur. Somehow a Texan and a Georgian ended up on the same block in South Williamsburg, NY, and after a lifetime of waiting we're READY. William and I can't be thankful enough for our wonderful parents and families who we now consider part of a greater clan, and look forward to spending our wedding day with all you crazy Cubans, Southerners and best of friends. March 3rd, bring it on!
